Abstract
The invention relates to a family of organic compounds of the 1(4 hydroxyphenyl)2(4' cyanophenyl) ethane ester type which have a smectic A type mesomorphic phase, to the mixture obtained from these compounds as well as the method for manufacturing the molecules of this family. The compound of the invention corresponds to the general chemical formula: ##STR1## n being between 1 and 15.
