Abstract

A novel pyridine derivative represented by the formula below, a method for preparation thereof and a plant disease protectant containing it, ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.7 alkyl group; R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkyl group, R.sup.3 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group; and R.sup.4 is a C.sub.2 -C.sub.8 alkyl group; a C.sub.3 -C.sub.7 cycloalkyl group or a C.sub.4 -C.sub.7 alkylcycloalkyl group, or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl group substituted with a C.sub.3 -C.sub.7 cycloalkyl group, which is effective as a plant disease protectant.
