Abstract
A non-mechanical refrigeration system particularly for use in a large insulated container such as a truck or railroad car for maintaining perishables at a desired low temperature during shipment. A cryogenic material such as liquid CO.sub.2 is used in a plurality of modes to permit or prevent exposure of the foodstuffs to CO.sub.2 vapors.
