Abstract
The invention relates to highly filterable polyvinyl polypyrrolidone particles and to the process for improving filterability of standard polyvinyl polypyrrolidone granules which comprises treating granular polyvinyl polypyrrolidone, containing a minor amount of non-cross-linked and/or unsaturated sites and having a number average molecular weight greater than 100,000, with ozone at a temperature selected from within the ranges consisting of from about -15.degree. C. to 35.degree. C. and from 85.degree. C. to about 150.degree. C. and collecting the ozone treated product, which has a flow rate index (FRI) increased by at least 25%.
