Abstract

The invention provides 2-nitromethylene hexahydropyrimidines of the general formula: ##STR1## in which R represents a hydrogen atom; a cycloalkyl group optionally substituted by alkyl and/or halogen; or a group of formula --(CO).sub.n (Y).sub.m R.sup.2 in which n is 0 or 1, Y is oxygen or sulphur, m is 0 or 1 and R.sup.2 represents an alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl group optionally substituted by one or more substituents selected from halogen; alkoxy; haloalkoxy; alkoxyalkoxy; hydroxy; acyloxy; thiol; cycloalkyl optionally substituted by alkyl and/or halogen; and optionally substituted phenyl; and R.sup.1 represents an optionally substituted phenyl group; their preparation and their use as pesticides.
