Abstract
A glucosamine derivative is disclosed, represented by formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently represent a halogen atom or a nitro group. A reagent for assaying N-acetyl-.beta.-D-glucosaminidase containing the glucosamine derivative as a substrate can assay a number of specimens with high sensitivity and accuracy in a short period of time.
