Abstract

Permanently bonded, highly reliable end-closures are formed on shirred tubular strands with less film waste and without applying adhesives by occluding deshirred film from one end of the strand and sealing the occludded film by the application of sufficient pressure and energy to cause gelation and adhesion of the film surfaces.
