Abstract

An N-(3-chloro-4-isopropylphenyl)carboxamide derivative represented by the general formula ##STR1## wherein R represents a 1-methylbutyl, 1-methylcyclopropyl or cyclopropyl group. This derivative is useful as a selective herbicide, and can be produced by reacting 3-chloro-4-isopropylaniline with a carboxylic acid halide derivative of the general formula ##STR2## wherein R is as defined above and X represents halogen, or with a carboxyilc acid anhydride of the general formula ##STR3## wherein R is as defined above.
