Abstract

The invention provides 4-hydroxycoumarin compounds of general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently selected from hydrogen and halogen atoms and R represents a group of formula ##STR2## wherein one of n and n' is O, the other being 0 or 1, D represents a moiety --O--, --(CH.sub.2).sub.m -- or --O(CH.sub.2).sub.m -- where m is 1 or 2 and X represents a substituent selected from hydrogen, halogen, CN, CF.sub.3, OCF.sub.3, C.sub.1-6 alkyl and C.sub.1-6 alkoxy moieties, provided that when n is 1 and D is --OCH.sub.2 --, X may additionally represent a phenyl group, optionally substituted in the 4-position by a substituent selected from halogen, CN, CF.sub.3, OCF.sub.3, C.sub.1-6 alkyl and C.sub.1-6 alkoxy moieties; their preparation and their use as rodenticides.
