Abstract
A process for preparing vinylidene fluoride homopolymers having low molecular weight and its copolymers by carrying out the polymerization in the presence of a radical initiator at a temperature ranging from 20.degree. to 160.degree. C. in a solvent of general formula R--COO--R.sub.1, wherein R is hydrogen or an alkyl radical having up to 4 carbon atoms and R.sub.1 is an alkyl radical with up to 5 carbon atoms.
