Abstract
The present invention provides a process for the preparation of 4-hydroxyindole derivatives of the general formula: ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical containing up to 6 carbon atoms and R.sub.2 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical containing up to 6 carbon atoms, wherein a compound of the general formula: ##STR2## in which R.sub.2 has the same meaning as above, is reacted with a compound of the general formula:
