Abstract

Method of preparing SbSbS.sub.4 product having a low level of free sulfur impurity, which includes mixing aqueous solutions of an alkali metal thioantimonate and a halide stabilized antimony trihalide to form a reaction mixture, while maintaining the reaction mixture at a pH of less than 7, to provide the SbSbS.sub.4 product having a low level of free sulfur impurity.
