Abstract

An expanded metal random packing for use in gas-liquid or liquid-liquid contact devices, which packing comprises: a longitudinal strip of expanded metal characterized by a plurality of generally uniformly disposed and defined spaces, the spaces defined by a plurality of struts hav ing a one and an other end, and the ends of said longitudinal strip disposed inwardly about a vertical axis to form a partial or fully enclosed body of an expanded metal random packing.
