Abstract
Polymerizable .alpha., .beta.-unsaturated carbonyl-functional silicone compositions are obtained from the reaction of thiol-functional organopolysiloxanes with an .alpha., .beta.-unsaturated carbonyl-functional compound having at least two acryloyl or methacryloyl groups or mixtures thereof per molecule in the presence of a base catalyst. The .alpha., .beta.-unsaturatured carbonyl-functional silicone compositions may be combined with a photosensitizer and/or a free radical generator and polymerized by radiation and/or heat.
