Abstract
A method of producing a molded rubber product for use in the pharmaceutical industry comprising the steps of mixing a rubber formulation including a halogenated butyl rubber and a curing system of from 0.5 to 2.0 parts by weight of zinc oxide and from 0.5 to 1.5 parts by weight of m-PBM. The parts are based upon the weight of the formulation. A sheet is formed from the mixture by feeding the mixture through a calender means. The calender sheet is molded into a molded rubber product at a pressure of at least 500 psi and at a temperature of up to 375.degree. F. for up to 5 minutes. The formed product is then removed.
