Abstract
An electropneumatic converter is provided comprising a gear pump. The two othed wheels are driven by two electric motors rotating at high speed in opposite directions. The control circuits for each of the motors are independent and a single motor may drive the pump permanently. The converter is used, for example in an activator for a cardiac module or artificial heart.
