Abstract

Fermentation reactions are conducted by introducing into a fermentation vessel a flocculating microorganism and a fermentable medium and continually withdrawing fermented broth from the vessel through a conduit which is disposed at an angle of at least 60.degree. but less than 90.degree. from the horizontal.
