Abstract

The invention relates to rapidly crystallizing polyester materials and a process for their preparation, in which, in a first stage, the polyester is prepared in the presence of an (alkaline earth) alkali metal or of an (alkaline earth) alkali metal compound, and then, in a second stage, further non-nucleated polyesters and a crystallization accelerator in a adequate amount are, if required, added to this polyester. The polyesters according to the invention are distinguished in particular by reduced molecular weight degradation.
