Abstract
The invention relates to a process for the continuous preparation of trioxane, optionally together with cyclic formals, from an aqueous formaldehyde solution in the presence of acidic solid-bed catalysts, the reaction taking place without simultaneous evaporation. The process according to the invention can be carried out even at high formaldehyde concentrations without appreciable paraformaldehyde deposits.
