Abstract
A method for roasting coffee beans in a roasting chamber, which includes depositing a quantity of coffee beans in the roasting chamber being small in proportion to the volume of the roasting chamber, directing a heatable air current through the roasting chamber substantially vertically from the bottom upward for rotating, upwardly whirling and circulating the coffee beans in a freely suspended state substantially untouched by each other and by the roasting chamber, and a device for carrying out the method.
