Abstract

A method of diminishing appetite, in turn preventing and treating obesity, by administration of a compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are the same or different and selected from a hydrogen atom or an acetyl group, or its pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt, and a pharmaceutical composition containing as an active ingredient the compound represented by the above formula.
