Abstract
Image scanning apparatus including an array of thin film light sensitive elements, said apparatus relying upon the concept of 'proximity focusing' in order to generate electrical signals for replicating an image on an image-bearing member. Included is a shielding layer operatively disposed between the abrasion-resistant, transparent coating and the upper electrode of said light sensitive elements for dissipating the harmful affects of static charge build-up.
