Abstract
A benzoylaminoalkylphosphonic acid represented by the following formula (I) ##STR1## wherein X and Y are identical or different, and each represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, CF.sub.3, or an alkyl group having not more than 5 carbon atoms, Z is CH or N, and R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are identical or different and each represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms. The compound is useful, as a herbicide, for eradicating weeds, especially broad-leaved weeds.
