Abstract

For the reaction of CO and H.sub.2 to produce hydrocarbons and alcohols, catalysts prepared by depositing carbonyls of molybdenum or tungsten and rhodium or ruthenium on alumina support and decomposing and oxidizing the carbonyls to oxides of the metals on the support.
