Abstract
A method for producing a compound having a double bond at an end of the molecule, comprising the dehydrating reaction of a compound represented by the general formula ##STR1## wherein R is a C.sub.2 -C.sub.20 hydrogen group having optionally double bonds, in the presence of a zirconium oxide catalyst treated with alkali solution.
