Abstract

A guide and magnetically susceptible track for a weld scanner wherein a mild steel sheet metal track element is wrapped about a pipe with its end portions overlapping and the end portions are tightened together with clamp means while tabs engage notches at the opposite corners of the track element so that a guide element along the centerline of the track element is thereby self-aligned to provide a full 360.degree. track and guide.
