Abstract

Compounds of the formula ##STR1## in which X is a radical of the formula --CHCl--CH.sub.2 Cl, --CHBr--CH.sub.2 Br, --CCl.dbd.CH.sub.2 or --CBr.dbd.CH.sub.2, are prepared by halogenation of acryloylamidoglycolic acid and optionally elimination of hydrogen halide from the dihalogeno compounds by the action of alkali. The compounds are suitable as intermediates for reactive dyes.
