Abstract

Derivatives of alkoxy, aryloxy and alkene isothiocyanates are produced by the reaction of a haloformate, an alkali, alkaline earth metal, lead or ammonium thiocyanate and a compound having the formula R.sup.1 YH wherein R.sup.1 is alkyl, aryl or alkoxy, Y is oxygen, sulfur or NR.sup.2 and R.sup.2 is hydrogen or R.sup.1, in the presence of a solvent or water and a catalyst.
