Abstract
Printing apparatus utilizing flexible metal sleeves comprises means for mounting the sleeves in cylindrical configuration in a device which maintains their cylindrical configuration by means of fluid which is applied to and maintained within the sleeves under pressure during their use. The sleeves are of the type which is made by electrodepositing metal in a form that is very thin, readily collapsible and imperforate. Several structures for supporting the sleeves are disclosed. The sleeves are provided on their exteriors with coatings of flexible, microcrystalline, wholly inorganic photoconductive material such as sputtered ultrapure cadmium sulfide. A method of mounting the sleeve is disclosed.
