Abstract
An azulene derivative capable of exerting a hypocholesterolemic effect on a mammal which is represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl groups and C.sub.2 -C.sub.12 alkenyl groups.
