Abstract

A process for modifying a polymer of a conjugated diene, which comprises reacting a polymer of a conjugated diene containing at least one metal selected from alkali metals and alkaline earth metals with a compound having a linkage of the following formula ##STR1## wherein X represents an oxygen or sulfur atom, in the molecule.
