Abstract

A medicament adsorbate containing a magnesium trisilicate having a surface area of at least 400 m.sup.2 /g and having a flake-like structure with multiple interstitial spaces, and having adsorbed therein from about 1% to about 20% by weight of the adsorbate of a medicament drug, wherein the medicament drug is an alkaloid.
