Abstract
A slider for a magnetic head assembly is formed with the bottom surfaces of at least two outside elements forming an air bearing surface, and with grooves provided at both ends forming pressure-raising mechanisms. The grooves are V-shaped and preferably converge in the direction of air flow. A central pressure reducing V-shaped groove converging in the opposite direction may be provided.
