Abstract
Compositions each comprising a copolymer of a specific allylic or (meth)acrylic compound of an iodine-substituted benzoic acid derivative and a comonomer have a refractive index n.sub.D.sup.20 of at least 1.58 and an Abbe's number of at least 28 and are excellent starting materials for the production of high quality lenses.
