Abstract
The present invention relates to novel N-(alkoxyphenyl) phthalimides conforming to the structure ##STR1## wherein X is a halogen atom, R is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, g is 1 to 5, n is an integer of from 0 to 4, m is either 0 or 1 and p is either 0 or 1. The phthalimide thus disclosed was found to be suitable as a flame retarding additive for thermoplastic molding compositions, especially compositions comprising polycarbonate resins.
