Abstract

This disclosure describes a new antibacterial agent designated LL-C23201.delta., produced in a microbiological fermentation under controlled conditions using a new strain of Streptomyces olivaceo-griseus, sp. nov. and mutants thereof. This new antibacterial agent is active against a variety of microorganisms and thus is useful in inhibiting the growth of such bacteria wherever they may be found.
