Abstract
A tandem arrangement of diecutting rolls severs scrap from a traveling web in two steps, each of which steps effects cutting entirely through the web, but at different peripheral locations. The partially cut scrap is carried with the remainder of the web from the first roll to the second, and any severed piece that lodges within the cutting element of the second roll is removed by the action of a mechanical scraper, which passes therethrough.
