Abstract
The invention relates to a process for the production of phenyl N-(2-biphenylylsulfonyl) carbamate represented by the general formula ##STR1## by reacting 2-phenylbenzene sulfonamide represented by the general formula ##STR2## with diphenyl carbonate represented by the general formula ##STR3## which is characterized in that said reaction is carried out in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide and an aprotic solvent at temperatures between about 20.degree. C. and about 60.degree. C.
