Thermoplastic molding materials contain a blend of a polyphenylene ether with a copolymer which consists of monovinyl-aromatic monomers, alkyl acrylates where alkyl is of not more than 8 carbon atoms and, if required, an elastomer component having a glass transition temperature of .ltoreq.0.degree.
