Abstract

The invention has for its object an improved method of performing gas-solid reactions. The method is characterized in that there is added expanded graphite of a volumetric mass between 0.001 and 0.02 g/cm.sup.3 to the reactive medium and in such quantity that it constitutes from 1 to 60% of the quantity of reactant solid present in the medium. The method makes it possible to improve the rate of the gas-solid reactions, as well as their stoichiometric characteristics, particularly in the case of reversible reactions.
