Abstract

Crystallized borosilicate glass zeolites prepared from a PYREX/template reaction system exhibit high para-selective and beta-selective catalytic activity in the respective alkylations of benzene, naphthalene, and derivatives thereof. A PYREX/tetraalkylammonium hydroxide system for alkylation of toluene with C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkanols is exemplary.
