Abstract

Substituted propargyloxyacetonitrile derivative represented by the general formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower haloalkyl group, a lower alkoxy group, a methylenedioxy group, a nitro group or a cyano group, n represents an integer of 1 to 5 and when n is an integer of 2 or more, R's may be identical or different, R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, and R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower haloalkyl group or a halogen atom, provided that R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are not simultaneously hydrogen atoms. The compounds have herbicidal and fungicidal activities.
