Abstract
A process for preventing corrosion of metals in contact with an alkaline liquid-acid gas absorbing solution comprises adding to the solution a corrosion inhibiting composition comprising soluble antimony and molybdenum salts in a specified weight ratio. The corrosion inhibiting composition is particularly suited for use with alkaline scrubbing solutions comprising a mixture of an alkali metal salt and an amine.
