Abstract
A method for developing a silver halide photographic material in the presence of an amino compound represented by the following general formula (I) or the salt thereof to increase photographic speed and/or gamma without being attended by a concomitant increase in generation of fog: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents an alkyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group or a cycloalkyl group; R.sup.2 and R.sup.3, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group or an alkylcarbonyl group, or R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 may combine with each other and form a ring; and A represents a divalent aliphatic linkage group.
