Abstract

Compositions and processes for cleaning and passivating metals wherein the cleaning operation is carried out at temperatures of from room temperature to 100.degree. C. and said compositions are aqueous solutions containing a phosphoric acid ester, an alkanolamine, at least one sprayable surfactant and, optionally, builders, non-ferrous metal inhibitors, and/or biocides.
