Abstract
Disclosed is a process for the photopolymerization of vinyl compounds and of photopolymerizable materials containing vinyl compounds and products produced thereby which are especially useful for dental materials. The process utilizes at least one photosensitizer of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is selected from the group consisting of CO, C(R.sup.1)(R.sup.2) and C(R.sup.3)(OR.sup.4); wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 are each selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and a hydrocarbon radical;
