Abstract

Product constituted by a polymer or a copolymer having in its chain substitutable groups to which are statistically fixed X and Y groups, in which X represents SO.sub.3 --R.sup.1, with R.sup.1 being a hydrogen atom or a physiologically acceptable metal, wherein the Y groups have the formula --SO.sub.2 --R.sup.2, in which R.sup.2 represents a radical derived from arginine or an arginine derivative, bonded by its amino function --NH-- to the radical --SO.sub.2 --. The invention also relates to a process for preparing such a product and to a process of the separation and purification of thrombin.
