Abstract

This invention relates to a process for the preparation of charge transfer complexes containing 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane by the reaction of TCNQ with organic cation iodides or by the reaction of nitrogen-containing heteroaromatic compounds and tertiary amines with H.sub.2 TCNQ, using smaller quantities of solvent than that required for complete solution of the TCNQ.
