Abstract

Salts of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-.beta.-carbolines of the formula I ##STR1## where R is hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy or trifluoromethyl, x is halogen and n is an integer from 2 to 5, and their preparation are described. The compounds are intermediates for the preparation of pharmacologically active substances.
