Abstract
An optically-black coating that is adherent to metal surfaces, has a low reflectance of light in the range of about 2000 to 7500 Angstroms, and is chemically stable up to at least 750.degree. C., consists essentially of a minor proportion of an inorganic silicate binder and a major proportion of a particulate mixture of cobaltic oxide and zinc oxide in the weight ratio range of 4/1 to 1/1.
